I am looking at a used squarewave 255 for sale and it comes with everything but the pedal.Looking on ebay there seems to be a big spread in prices, any reason to stick with a oem part or will some of the cheaper ones work? No used ones that I could see so any tips to a cheap source for a pedal, used equipment dealers or?TIASr
Reply:I have an SSC pedal on my Thermal Arc tig. It works fine, no problems and I am happy with it. It cost alot less than buying one from Thermal Arc. I see now it appears Thermal Arc uses SSC pedals on their new machines. I just bought another SSC pedal for my XMT from a member here named Weldersales. $165 shipped to my door, delivery in about 3 working days. I think the SSC website is www.ssccontrols.com if you want to see what they look like.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:Hi, I bought a ssc pedal for my lincoln 205-AC/DC, It was classed as a deluxe(because it has a double action pedal) the first click just starts the arc at the lowest set amps without maybe going too far with the rocker pedal. Jim moll even sent me an e;mail to make sure everything was OK. Best regards Gordon. |
