Does this particular link have a name-----What is the chain that is second from the left called if anyone knows-----I've never seen a link like the top two before. What is it used for and what would it be called if I wanted to try looking for a length of it on eBay-----Is anyone in a position to put a name to the link that is 2nd from the bottom in this photo?--MM 211Smith Tru Lite O/A set, Thanks Bob!Lincoln AC-225--But you must not change one thing, one pebble, one grain of sand, until you know what good and evil will follow on that act. Reply:Those are some interesting chain links. The top one should be able to get at the hardware store, home center , possibly even Walmart. Bottoms two look like cast conveyor chain of some type.I know this doesn't answer your question. Good luck
Reply:I'll have an attempt, bear in mind this is what is referred to in Australia, so, might be lost in translation.First picture - Double Jack ChainSecond Picture - Leaf ChainThe other pictures are of conveyor chain. Then it gets interesting, lots of variations as to the material ie, plastic, SS, cast, etc.Apologies for not being much more help.
Reply:1st one looks like lock link chain.http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-chain/=zopmuv2nd as mentioned looks like leaf chainhttp://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-roller-chain/=zopncdLast might be crank link chain..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:2nd from the left looks like a roller chain, that particular looks almost like a timing chain from a 350 chevy...or what one of its uses was..Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
Reply:Don't know first onesecond one is double roller chain, Have used up to 6 roller chain beforeDon't know the name of the third one but it is used for heavy driers and heating drums as in making asphaltI think it is classified as roller chain with a large # classtrailblazer 302thunderbolt ac dc machine Hobart fluxcoreAHP tig 200x 2015
Reply:Bottom picks are pintle chain. In the application I'm used to, drag bars are welded to the links at a particular spacing and used to drag salt/sand from the rear of a spreader body to a point of discharge....Mike
Reply:@ Equi - your 2nd image, as mentioned, is a double roller timing chain.  Common finds on CL for art works, if that is your motivation in asking. Pontiac  and Mopar. Reply:I hate to be a terminology nazi, but the second chain from the left in the second picture is not double-roller chain of any type.  That type of chain doesn't actually use rollers at all.  It was correctly identified earlier as leaf chain, also called lift chain.  Every forklift I've seen uses this type of chain in the mast, and it could probably be found in bulk at a forklift supply or repair shop.  It is/was also used as factory stock timing chain, and was often *replaced* by double-roller timing chain by hot-rodders.  A quick google search for double-roller timing chain will show you what that looks like.
Reply:Thank you so much everyone!!! All these replies have been extremely helpful. I'll be able to find what I want now with names to put to these chains. --ManoKai> Yes, for next season's projects. Particularly the leaf chain and the conveyor chain in the third photo. I love both of the sprockets. Great find!!! One of the sellers is pretty close to me and now I can start looking on my own because I'll be able to plug in the words timing +  chain + set so thanks for that tip. All of the items I want show up sooner or later soon as I figure out how to look for them. I'm patient.MM 211Smith Tru Lite O/A set, Thanks Bob!Lincoln AC-225--But you must not change one thing, one pebble, one grain of sand, until you know what good and evil will follow on that act. Reply:@ tbone550 - check.  No ROLLER pins integrated in the 2nd chain.  Thanks for correcting my mis-step."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

Reply:First chain is a single loop lock link.http://www.perfectionchain.com/weldlesschain.htmlSecond pic, second chain looks like a silent chain but hard to tell from the picture.  Leaf chains, as used on forklifts and stuff, seem to have double plates."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
Reply:#1 - ???#2 - Silent Chain#3 & #4 -  Offset cast-link chain of some nature.   If you're looking for a brand name, you're on your own!
Reply:Such great info. I've been able to locate every chain with the exception of the chain in the blue box from the third photo-----Any ideas where it could be purchased? I'd like 9' of it.MM 211Smith Tru Lite O/A set, Thanks Bob!Lincoln AC-225--But you must not change one thing, one pebble, one grain of sand, until you know what good and evil will follow on that act. Reply:I'm gonna go ahead and call it F801.     Could be CC600 series though.     Is there a maintenance guy or manual you could consult?  It seems strange to be guessing at at a very specific chain!
Reply:Thank you very much advan. I would have NEVER found it if you hadn't given me the above two possibilities. It's C600, http://www.iwis.de/en/drive-systems/...nveyor-chains/. It's also available here as fixed pin CC600 or removable pin F801, http://www.jasma.com/a-lpg-chain-conveyors-systems.html. --No, no maintenance guy or manual. I saw a small length of this chain in a box at a garage sale last summer and didn't buy it because there wasn't enough of it to do much of anything with. I then found photos of it online and thought it would be prefect to use fabricating the outer edge of a coffee table for one of our sons. Question for you that you may or may not know the answer to. All descriptions I have found of this type of chain state it is available in cast steel or plastic. Do you know of a similar style of chain that isn't cast steel? I only have a MIG machine and to be honest with you.... have problems welding cast anything.MM 211Smith Tru Lite O/A set, Thanks Bob!Lincoln AC-225--But you must not change one thing, one pebble, one grain of sand, until you know what good and evil will follow on that act.
