Can anyone tell me how good this machine is. Was wondering if it is even worth looking into it.
Reply:First I've heard of it:http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-s-a...00-welder.htmlSomeone here will know which Chinese rebranded unit this is, you will find initial excitement about their MIG on these boards with disappointment setting in later on.Other than lost time though, this may be a good way of seeing if the non Miller/Lincoln inverter Tigs are any good without worrying about super sketchy customer service.
Reply:I bought one but mine was broke out of the box and they took it back right away. I just went with a miller because I wanted to do some welding and a local place had it in stock. Why not try it out and if it sucks return it. I did an unboxing of it on youtube. Also their tig and plasma cutter are on sale together for $999http://www.eastwood.com/ew-tig200-versa-cut-kit.htmlTorchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:I bought the combo about a month ago now and everything has been working as I would expect. I have been practicing with the tig about 3 to 4 hours a week ranging from 3/16th to 26 gauge steel and haven't had any problems with either the tig or the plasma cutter. My welds still leave a lot to be improved upon but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the welder itself.

Reply:I just used one last week and besides the funky cheap foot pedal and less than impressive dials and controls it comes with everything you need to weld minus the gas!!!! I was actually really impressed as to how well it welded, arc started really nice and stable. I still have to try the AC and their version of AC balance. |
