Reply:To want to do that you must have been given the sheets.                                        MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:No. Bought them at auction and don't have  any other plans for them.  Would trade for appropriate size 3/8 or 1/2 material.30+ yrs Army Infantry & Field Artillery, 25 yrs agoMiller 350LX Tig Runner TA 210, spool gunLincoln 250/250 IdealArcESAB PCM 500i PlasmaKazoo 30"  vert BSKazoo 9x16 horiz BSClausing 12x24 lathe20T Air Press
Reply:I'm a bit confused by this. If I'm understanding this right, you want to make a thick top with thin sheets. It's not going to be the same. Think about say 5 sheets of paper vs one thick piece of chip board. The paper my still be the same thickness, but because it's individual sheets, it still bends differently and is weaker. You'd have to not only join the edges, but the center in multiple spots as well. Probably a lot more trouble than it's worth to get a 2nd rate table top. The pieces won't stay tight together in all places and the top will have a tinny sound as the pieces move when weight is placed on it. Also the added flexibility pretty much defeats most of the reasons for a thick top.If you want a thick top, buy the material you need..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:This is stupidity.  Just because you have the sheet doesn't make it a good idea.  Just go buy the sheet you need.  If it costs a hundred some bucks so what, we've all wasted more on totally useless stuff.
