No small tips for Smith AW1A AC309 cutting attachment

The MC12-00 is the smallest I can find and compared to the Victor J series, this Smith is a huge tip.The (6) oxygen preheats are huge compared to the Victor which only has (4) on top of it.When working with sheet metal there has to be something smaller for this Smith cutter because the MC12-00 is way, way, way too big.Plus I completely loathe the valve position on the cutter.The Victor J series wins hands down in the cutting department.  Its just that the J doesn't weld worth spit - well it does actually spit quite well.  FYI the Victor pops like a fireworks display while the Smith is virtually impossible to make pop.  I feel safe welding with cheaters with my face 9" from the weld puddle.I was hoping to sell off all my J stuff, but if I need to cut some rusted sheetmetal spot welds, I'm going to have to keep the J hanging around.  That was NOT my plan getting this Smith.And I really hate the flat graphite seals of the Smith cutting tip.  I think that is a poor design.  Should be all metal - especially how cutting tips get rough usage.Do I have any options at this point?  (I laugh, maybe I could plug up 3 preheat holes...)

Reply:Concoa?  That is a new name for me.I've been looking to try a MECO Aviator Jet and see how it compares with my Smith (the Victor J is a lost cause although it is such a small lightweight torch.)However, should I be looking for  Concoa if I'm into Old School sheet metal work?I do have a Henrob and haven't really given it a real shake down.  I think someone said it was great for cutting sheet metal which makes sense since it uses the welding tip as the preheat so that can be quite small and localized.Maybe I should shake down the Henrob ASAP to see what I like best since I'm pretty familiar with the AW1 Smith now.

Reply:If your doing sheet work, the Henrob makes a decent cutting setup. Its better in some ways, worse in others, cutting out things like small circles just suck, while straight line work it does very well. Yep Concoa is the old Airco.
Reply:MC-12-00 is the smallest listed cutting tip there.The SC-12 goes down to size 000 though.  Weird, the 'heavy-duty' series (SC-12) goes to a smaller cutting tip size than the 'medium-duty' series (MC-12).  Victor makes/lists versions of the SC series tips, but I don't see Victor versions of the MC series tips.Plasma to do the cutting maybe?  The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
