1994-Lincoln ranger-8-233 hours $$$

I have a customer, she is divorced,separated,angry. Her man left and left all of his tools behind. She had asked me about the welder if I would be interested, I told her I wouldn't be able to give her what it's worth. I told her to list it on craigslist for 1500$. And if she couldn't find a buyer I'd give her 500$ which is a crappy offer and i told her so but it's what I could afford. Now she is offering it to me for 800$. Would I be a fool not to take it???? It's a 1994 ranger8 233 hours on a trailer (just an axle really) with leads I'm not sure how long.  what would you pay assuming it runs and welds. Reply:That sounds like a good deal. Knowing the circumstances is the killer. Good price or not I don't think I would mess with it. If it turned into a big hassle about who owns it, who can sell it, or any kinda legal mess then it ain't worth it. Years ago a buddy of mine bought a Jeep that turned out to be stolen property, what a hassle it was. It would be great to get that welder at such a good price and the money might help the lady out also but be careful.The worst thing I can think of happening is if everything I ever welded instantly became UNWELDED

I'm not out to screw anyone (karma) I will look into the divorce property thing and maybe cry poor and offer 600 final offer I really don't need it other than the genny. Reply:Thanks for the advice guys. I was reluctant for this very reason. I've thought about the different circumstances and I will pass. Good deal or not nothing is worth the headache that will come with it. This machine would cost me a ton, to get it how I want it anyway.  high freq for alum wire feeder etc. I already have a big generator.
