Gearing up for a job. Picked up a couple tools to help make it happen.New miter saw with stand. Cuts aluminum like butter.Stand is incredibly versatile. Highly recommend to anyone looking for one.And a manual foot corner notcher. Usually do them by hand but 98 corners for this job is a bit much.
Reply:And can't forget this. The old Scotchman. Shopped for years before I stole this one.
Reply:I like the notcher, would be great for pans. What gauge can it cut?Tim Beeker.
Reply:16g in steel. Little thicker in aluminum with my fat buddy jumping on it like a circus monkey. Blades are 3" but you can keep pushing it through and make a larger corner or an offset. Like a 4x7, etc.
Reply:sweet additions.how come you got both a dewalt chop saw and a cold saw? i use a scotchman for cutting almost everything at work, might not be the fastest, but its damn accurate. chris

Reply:My sisters B/freind has one of those Dewalt mitering saw's and I was allready looking at it to see if it had potential for aluminum, good to know that it does handle aluminum...Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st
Reply:Just wax the blade and they last a long long time. Stay focused though. I've seen guys shoot a chunk across the room and ruin a $100 blade. |
