Came across this truck today and thought there were some interesting things with the bed that were worth sharing. The first thing that caught my eye was there are no main rails. It's designed to carry from the side rails. The side rails are carried on the head ache rack and rear member, which are attached to the frame. He then used fillers between the cross members to utilise the original bed mounts. I've built them with small and light mains but never without.Yeah, I know, but it'll be ok!Lincoln Square wave 255Miller Vintage mig30a spoolgunThermal Dynamics Pacmaster 100xl plasmaSmith mc torchEllis 1600 band saw
Reply:Oh a chicken transport ,They don't weight any thing if they flap there wind while you drive.
Reply:That's ugly...
Reply:I also thought that his mounts in the corners for holding the side boards were well done too.His design for the fuel filler is also Nice. The head ache rack is not fancy, but very functional and neatly done.I checked it over pretty well and the welds are nothing to brag about, but none were broken. There were no stake pockets or takedowns which I didn't like, but over all a nice bed.
