Reply:Can you just buy the blade if you have a metal abrasive chop saw? That looks awesome!

Reply:No because abrasive saws spin too fast.  You will overheat the blade in no time flat.   That saw in the video turns at 1350rpm.   Most abrasive saws are in the 3500rpm rangeTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:if u take care of them a long time.  Thy can be resharpened too.  Locally it runs me about $40 to be professionally sharpened if no broken teeth.   I also have one blade I keep for freehand cuts when needed.  Its got a few broken teeth but still works abit with a few more sparksTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:I tried to order a horizontal bandsaw a few days ago, but my credit limit isn't high enough to let me buy it, so in the meantime I was thinking of buying one of these so I can cut some steel and finally use my welder. Why would I choose this saw over a nice horizontal bandsaw? I just don't like how the blades are so expensive.

Reply:Eh I just went ahead and ordered mine from sears too! I was really not planning on buying a saw but really need one..... The workspace I have is not in a real basement setting.... It is more of a workshop but my father doesnt want me cutting stuff indoors since it will release alot of particles into the air and get all over the place. I was planning on buying a dewalt abrasive saw but this one looks too good! I will setup this saw outdoors on a nib dewalt miter stand I got for 100 bucks! I cant wait!Miller Diversion 165Rage 2 Chop saw

Reply:They say no lube needed but if you use a wax type lubricant every 5 cuts or so your blade will last significantly longer.  Everyone I know who has one LOVES them.  Most of the people I know have the hand held, 9" ones, some have both.
Reply:And what is the name of thewax type lubricant and where is it sold??????Inquiring minds want to knowthanks Tom

Reply:I've got the rage 3 evo sliding compound miter, and have been very satisfied with it. yes the clamping system could be better. I got the compound miter because I work with wood almost as much as I work with metal. though, I'm trying to change that. but I needed the ability to cut larger pieces of wood. 3"x12" in a single straight cut. I wish they made it in a 12" though so you didn't have to flip 4x4s. but it has done all the jobs I've asked of it. I've got the multi purpose blade and made well over 100 cuts with it in combined wood and metal and still am not worried about the sharpness of the blade. though finding out the blades can be sharpened makes me even happier with my purchase. Definately a great saw for a DIY guy or someone who's not doing HUGE production runs. There are no problems. There are only solutions. Reply:This is Evolution direct... I ordered it thru Amazon.com which uses a third party call tool fetch. So now I have to go thru this nonsense while I pay another guy to cut my metal for my project. It's no telling when this problem will get resolved. I'll never talk smack about home depot again... I could just walk in and return this if it was from them

Reply:I hate for one guy at the company to give a good product a bad name, heck...maybe that guy lost the phone or who knows...anyway Im glad you talked to someone.  I know tons of guys with EVO saws and they love them.  Im sure this will work out for ya.http://www.evolutionpowertools.co.uk/us/contact_us.htmlLast edited by Cryo Gal; 09-15-2011 at 03:40 PM.

Reply:What really sucks is that another company is giving the saw a bad name, not the company that makes the product. I bought mine through sears, but I think the actual seller was toolking.com I'll have to check the receipts when I get home. I would give this John guy another call and see if there is anything he can do on Evo's end. I would be pissed if I had a distributor giving my product a bad name (granted it was defective) with bad customer service. There are no problems. There are only solutions. Reply:I have thought about buying one of these saws for a while, after watching the video here and the first page of comments, I bought the Rage4 from Sears. They are still on sale, have free shipping, and you can get another $5 off with the code SDEALS2011.Today I read the problems with Customer Service on the second page of comments, so I'm hoping that will not be the case with mine. I cut mostly 1/2" round, angle iron, pipe, and tube. I think the Rage4 will be a great new tool to eliminate a lot of dust from the abrasive saw and then grinding the edges clean before I can use the pieces. Plus the time saved will be a plus. And it is more portable than the the Rage2. I hope I don't wish later I had chosen the Rage2.Evo should post a video of these saws in action on every site, that would generate a lot of sales.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:I would think since you got yours from Sears you should have no issues with customer service, as you could simply go thru them at least for a certain time period.
