Reply:Thanks all....Yes I make bunches of them..... occasionally I need a break and will practice 2G and 5G pipe just for good measure..... but the dominoes keep the company name alive with gas, filler, and new toys......The flat stock was 5' long, 1/4" thick X 1"..... turns out brass is not unlike most metals in that it has a mill scale type coating and is very dull......... First I hit with the Metabo using progressively finer grits..... then I start cutting it... along with some aluminum I was also working on....... Each cut was fast..... about 10 seconds...... I had to adjust the down feed to slow the saw down.... I use a Harbor Freight Bandsaw....... it's a good unit......Then into the Jig to punch the pips and back to the saw to cut the line down the middle.....From there I used a 400 grit high speed grinder to get the fine scratches out.... then...onto the Harbor Freight buffer with Busch airways and the Green bar.....5 hours later....... all done......The guy will probably pay me in a day or two..... these will make the 9th complete set I have made for him......Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:What was that metabo setup you got? I remember seeing pics and I know it isn't cheap. But I need something for that surface finish on a bigger scale. I think I need to make the investment. You mention finer grits, did you get more than just the burnishing wheel for it?The dominos look fantastic! Very nice job!12v battery, jumper cables, and a 6013.I only have a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VPT/244788508917829
Reply:I remember the first set you made. Big difference. Good job dude. |
