recommend a MIG welder

HI I am planning to buy a mig welder, can I get an advise on what brand should I take?I need a 220V machine and an amp around 140 to 200
Reply:Not going to recommend a brand, but if 220 volts get 200 amps mig. I own a Lincoln might for sheet metal and Miller for structural.I guess what drives brand for me is support. Reply:You can't go wrong with Miller, Lincoln, Hobart or Thermal Arc. After that it depends on your budget.Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:If you go used, a Millermatic 200.New, I'd say a Millermatic 211 if youre a hobby guy with not a ton of heavy stuff to do.

Reply:I have too, and love my Caddie mig 200.. Still lots of good candidates in the 200 class machines. Try to stick with something that will push some .045 dual-shield wire now, and again. Even if at the lower-end it operating range./duty-cycle. It will open up another world.. Reply:Almost bought the Caddie.  Excellent machine.  Opted for millertime 211.  Like the MVP for small stuff when a 230 volt isn't available.
Reply:I'm new.... never welded before. I had it narrowed down to these five MIG welders from reading threads here; Thermal Arc 211i, Lincoln 216, ESAB 200i, Hobart 210, or a Miller 211. I read a lot of reviews online and took notes. All had similar warranties. I knocked out the ESAB 1st because I couldn't find anyone who serviced them within a reasonable driving distance. Next I knocked out the Lincoln because it appeared to be a comparable machine to the others yet.... was several hundred $$$ more expensive. Next to get the boot was the Thermal Arc simply because Tweco evidently bought out or merged with Thermal Arc and I was incapable of determining whether that would ultimately be a good thing or a bad thing for consumers. That left the Hobart and the Miller. The Hobart was a little cheaper than the Miller and there was a service center close to me so I initially determined the Hobart was the machine I'd purchase. Until.... I learned there were actual differences between the two.... Miller held it's value better than Hobart and the Miller 211 had a "dimmer switch" settings feature for current control that the Hobart 210 didn't have. I bought the Miller last week. There's a $100 rebate available right now that brought the price of the unit down to within range of the comparable Hobart, https://www.millerwelds.com/landing/...lue-Rebate.pdf. --I strongly suspect one can't go wrong with any of these welders.
