I don't post on here a whole lot, mostly just view different threads, but here is a project we recently completed that you may enjoy. All aluminum TIG welded table, powder coated base, and street signs cut and fit like a puzzle to create a flat surface. https://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hlCraig MontgomeryM&L Fabrication, LLChttps://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hl

Reply:I presume you used a base to fasten the signs to. How did you keep it flat without HAZ distortion?
Reply:Sheet metal skin under the signs, riveted to the skin.Craig MontgomeryM&L Fabrication, LLChttps://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hl
Reply:Is it wise to post pictures! is the LAW looking for a sign vandal ?
Reply:Haha, I work 14-16 hour days 6-7 days a week, do you really think I have time to illegally acquire all those signs? They were all purchased legally. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkCraig MontgomeryM&L Fabrication, LLChttps://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hl
Reply:That is REALLY super rad. I have built some cool stuff and that is right up there too. That is a ton of tedious cutting & fitting and you have chosen to go the hard way and angle everything randomly. Mad mad Props. My only unsolicited criticism is the side edge pieces should have been riveted direct to the subframe, continuing the dry fit technique you did across the while top. The aluminum trim is very distracting, prone to coming apart and collecting chilli dog droppings. Again, props. this is really kick ***.
Reply:I couldn't see rivets in the photos. For about 20 hours I had a van load of legally acquired milk crates. I didn't keep them a secret from my wife. She quickly "shared the wealth" with other teachers in the school where she works. In hours I was back to scrounging for containers. I was poorer, but wiser. Guard your sources, other people like me will want some.
Reply:Nice Table
Reply:Im sure they are legal, but wouldn't it make a better story to think the county over is wondering where their signs went? Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
