Just picked up a Jancy Mag drill for a job we got (I'd been looking for a good excuse), and got a few cutters with it, I think I've found a decent deal on another assortment of cutters, some being new.  Since I'd like to make sure I can get maximum life out of the cutters, I want to know what coolant/oil everyone uses.  I assume the use of a fluid is mainly for cooling purposes??   Thanks

Reply:lots of guys are liking the emulsion cutting fluids, basically its a cutting lubricant that is mixed with water, it cools better than oil and lubricates like a cutting fluid. It can be expensive though relative to oil based fluids
Reply:http://www.itwfpg.com/rustlick/soluble_oils.htmlI use this and apply with a 2" paint brush..Awesome stuff!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I use threadcut dark on ferrous alloys, especially stainless steel. Alum and red metals I use any water based coolant. The favorite is TrimSol. Cleans up very nicely. You can get it at ENCO.http://www.use-enco.com/1/1/11490-tr...ng-fluids.htmlLast edited by shovelon; 02-24-2012 at 03:30 PM.Reason: spellinWeld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:WD-40 in a spray bottle like you but simple green or windex in.    buy it by the gallon, cheep, effective, and available.    In a pinch in field conditions i have used liberal amounts of plain water, seems to work wellVantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:soluable oil or water in a spray bottle or the built in system
Reply:mine is blue but the red would be hard to misplace.   i fill it with 30 weight quaker state, or whatever is on sale.  works fine for me and i have drilled a lot of holes. Attached Images
Reply:there's my blue oil can;  an action photo.   plate was cut with cheap victor and a #3 tip.afraid i've had to replace the little guy since then,  met a bad end under a piece of 1" plate. Attached Images
Reply:Castrol stick wax, or mystic metal mover.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:I use a product called Kool Mist.. water based sol. I use it in my band saw, drill press, tapping ect.. I like it because when you are done take a air hose and clean up or a towel wipe off quick easier clean-up than oil based products and your tooling wont rust like some water based products. my thoughts anyway..Dale
