Anybody have this saw? http://www.wttool.com/index/page/pro..._shopping=trueBeen trying to find the Cummins Industrial one that is basically the HF 4x6 with a silly looking swivel under the head. I can't find it anywhere online though, I just saw a picture of one on here and it looked nicer than the HF ones for about the same price.I've been comparing it to the other swivel heads and it LOOKS comparable - but cheaper with a bigger motor. It also SAYS it seconds as a vertical which is something I'm looking for. The other ones I've looked at are the super cheap standard 4x6 HF style ones. Not too bad, but probably less accurate on the miters than a swivel head. Trying to decide what bandsaw to get to replace my dry saw (too loud/messy) and inaccurate on miters. Have more time than money and would rather mess with one than spend a few grand on a really nice one. I also have a lathe and a mill so making new parts for it out scrap isn't a big deal. It's all hobby stuff for me, not how I make my living.Don't really want to get into a debate on why/how these aren't industrial machines, I recognize that. Thanks guys.Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250

Reply:"warts"I have ranted about my JET before, although this time it is holding up on repairs but I don't use it much anymore. Not what my reply was about though, I was totally feedup with the stand one day and and decided to build a new one. I made a rule though that I couldn't spend any money on it not even a $1.00 about 1/2 through building the wheels I regretted that but I stuck to it. Anyway here is my zero dollar stand:
Reply:Not trying to hijack, but have you seen this one? I would be interested to hear from anyone here that has used it. The reviews seem okay.http://www.amazon.com/Jet-414458-HVB...0618082&sr=1-2Miller Dynasty 200DXMillermatic 210 w/ Spoolmate 3035Hypertherm Powermax 380JD Squared Model 32Multiple fabrication tools & equipmentFull Powder Coating Setup

Reply:Looked at that one, yukdung, but it's $50 more and has a 1/3hp motor as opposed to the 3/4hp I posted in the original post. The NT has 1/2" more capacity I guess. Anyone think it's worth paying 2x the price for a swivel head as opposed to the regular one? Anybody have any info on that Cummins Industrial saw?Millermatic 135Syncrowave 250
Reply:I have one of the swivel head HDC saws that was sold by Homier. It is an older saw and was given to me. It needed a good cleanup and adjusting per instructions on the 4X6 bandsaw site on yahoo. It works great with a good bimetal blade on it. I like the swivel head as you do not need as much room since you do not have to swing the material for angle cuts. They were pretty cheap back in the day, but now I think they are about $500? I hope it last a long time as I would not pay that for it now. Hope this helps.Hobart 190 migLincoln/Century 140 migLincoln buzz boxChicago Electric cutoff sawLotos LTP5000D Plasma CutterHMC Swivel head band saw

Reply:The 64.5 inch long blade and it being half inch it can wander very easily on a cut. I have a regular version with no swivel and it's ok but slow cutting and I have to be patient. on an angle cut I have to let the blade track on the angled surface before releasing it. I regret not getting a swivel version but a heavier blade. I am not prepared yet to spend for a heavier blade with a swinging head..... many thousands. They have one like that at work bit with a 1 inch wide blade it was something like ten grand.
Reply:I have one similar to that one in the 4"X6" size and love it. It is a different brand and seems to be better quality then HF type. I think company name it TJC but I have not found it anywhere else and the place I bought it from has changed owners. My buddy bought one at the same time. It was $200. about 5 years ago.have funTom
Reply:just a FWIW, grizzly sells what appears to be the same swivel at 5x6 ..http://www.grizzly.com/products/5-x-...vel-Head/G9742Some reviews on amazon
Reply:Had looked at that one too but it was a decent amount more than the original saw I linked. I dont see anywhere that says that Grizzly can be used as a vertical either, which I think could be very very useful.
