ran a couple beads with the Hobart 140 cranked up and worked with the wire speed to put down a couple "satisfactory" beads on 1/4" steel using flux core wire Attached Images
Reply:Is that cranked up all the way? If so, you travel speed is a little too slow.Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:yep, that's all the way up on the 140. not doubted your word, but why do you say my speed is to slow? just asking because I don't weld a lot of thick material.

Reply:gotcha! I was using a "C" type weave as I was laying the bead down. don't know if that's why it looks ropey or not. but I will try a little faster travel speed to see what I get. thanks buddy!
Reply:Get away from running beads on a flat plate. Do some lap joints or fillet welds. Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
