Reply:Still got to finish sandblasting, paint, and finish the lights. Taillights are encased in a 5½x5½" box for protectionHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!
Reply:That was fast! Nice little trailer.GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:I've got about a week in it, little bit here and there. Got it up to 80 mph yesterday, and pulled greatHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!
Reply:Good deal! Any details you want to share on materials used?GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:The main frame is 2x2x³/16ths. The tongue is 2x3x3/16. Pretty simple build really. I really wanted a bulldog hitch but man they're high $$$  lol.I've got $1100 in this so far just in materials. Very expensive out here in West Texas because the oil boomHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!
Reply:2 tires/wheels2 fendersAnd 10 lugnets = $454 at my local tractor supply. Damn oil boomHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!

Reply:It's complete chaos, and price gouging. Same size trailer at tractor supply sells for $1400 here, but is real flimsey, and cheaply made, with a 2000 lb axle. I'm much happier knowing that mine is 3 times stronger, and built to my specsHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!

Reply:Very true my friend. I've built quite a few trailers over the years, and have never known of any issues that anyone has hadHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!
Reply:At least you know how to weld....Nice job!!

Reply:DO NOT USE THE DIMENSIONS FROM ETRAILER, THEY'RE WRONG (nice huh?)Your hanger centers should be 24 3/4"From my supplier's spec sheet/catalog:Shackles should always be in this orientation, otherwise the spring can't move easily.  It must be able to move easily over-center on the fulcrum formed by the rear hanger and shackle"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Originally Posted by JSmitty74My pic above is no weight on it. I calculated the weight it was gonna have, and by the time it was all done, my angles of my rear angle are just as is in the link you posted. I'll take a pic of those angles tomorrow if you like
Reply:Eventhough he likes to shout, and at times is a post whore, I think I have to agree with the farmer here.  Rear shackle needs to start out just a hair over center for things to work correctly. My name's not Jim....
Reply:Bear in mind that the axle was "free hanging". With weight on it now, it's not the same as thenHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!
Reply:Here are the hangers while on the ground, and trailer empty. Always worked good for meHere are the tail light housings. Mainly to keep my kids from stepping on the lights and breaking them, lolAnd here is the way the floor is held into place. Strap on both ends. Floor is not anchored any other way, besides thisHome hobbiest:Build all sorts of BBQ pits & smokers (trailer & non)Lincoln 225 Cracker box (antique)O/P torchRedneck tools out the a$$.They get me by!
