No matter where I look on the web this site always comes up with the answer and so I'm hoping you can help me out. I recently purchased a used Airco Yellow Jacket Welder. It had no manuals, information, nothing with it. It was used by a school in the 80's who sold it a local rancher who I bought it from. The unit is in excellent shape. My question though is the manuals. I always try to obtain manuals for whatever I purchase if they're not included. Trying to trace this thing though has proven to be a bit of a nightmare. I "think" this model equates to a Miller Big 40 except for one item: the gas ports at the bottom of the welder, below the controls. That's why I want the manuals to see what indeed the ports are for but also for parts in case I have to order any. If any body has an information, guidance, suggestions would appreciate it! THANK YOU!
Reply:No why they posted upside down is beside me??? They're stored 'normal' on the computer!
Reply:Looks like an engine driven DialArc HF, dose that little dial say intensity on it.Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
Reply:Colin, don't see anything that says 'intensity' on it but here's the schematic from the lower half of the unit.
Reply:Sorry... I still have no idea why the pics are posting upside down!
Reply:As colindstark said, it looks just like a engine driven DialArc HF - but missing a few features and multiprocess (CC/CV) so you can do TIG, MIG with feeder or Stick. Similar to a modern Miller Bobcat, but those don't have HF onboard. Even though it has HF start it doesn't have remote amperage control, only a switch for the output contactor and HF.Does it work? Have you tried out all the modes and features? I tried some google searches for a manual but nothing really came up.1988 Big 50 Diesel CC/CV1982 Weldanpower 225/2101968 SAE 300 motor generatorMaxstar 200SD2015 AHP 200x"The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." - Ronald Reagan
Reply:Some Airco machines are rebadge Miller machines, lookup Miller Trailblazer 4G  as controls look similar. Ok my bad 44GLast edited by guajilloweld03; 01-03-2016 at 08:33 AM.
Reply:Yup TB 44Ghttps://www.millerwelds.com/files/ow...s/O458_MIL.pdfIf you want a copy of the tech parts sheet, PM me. The machine doesn't have a tech manual available on the Extranet, but I'm almost betting I have one in my hard copy literature. Sorry, can't part with that one, but I'll give you what I have in PDF.Last edited by 7A749; 01-03-2016 at 08:02 AM.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:TOUCHDOWN!! Thank you 7A749, that is exactly what I have. All the gauges, inlets/outlets, match up. Now to go figure it all out. If you can copy the tech manual I'd love to have a copy of that too. Now the manual notes '1975' so that machine is roughly 40 years old. I'm guessing parts are going to be a problem aren't they? Even though I'm hoping I won't have issues I know eventually something is going to break. I know technology has come a long way and am guessing (hoping) that new parts may be used if they can be adapted. Of course the best course would be to get a new machine but who can afford that (not me). Thank you to everyone who responded!

Reply:There are plenty of older machines making $$$ everyday, almost seems like newer machines are not designed to last 40 yrs.
Reply:I think you are 100% correct on that.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
