I was just wondering what kind of prices you guys are paying for itI bought a pack of pure tungston today for $27.00   at One of my local shops but they didn't have 2% thorinated  so I went to another shop and bought a pack of 2% got the receipt just about fell over backwards it was $75.00 for a pack So I was wondering what kind of pricing you are buying for.trailblazer 302thunderbolt ac dc machine Hobart fluxcoreAHP tig 200x 2015

Reply:Don't shop at air gas. They suck. I think I pay 3 bucks for 3/32 tungsten. Seems like stuff is going up in price. I got couple pounds of 3/32 70s2 and it was 4$ a pound, a year ago it was 2.50$ per pound. She sells it for 6 a pound but I get the lucky deal

Reply:my LWS is on par with the $75 for lanth. i am always upfront with all the places that i have an account at, i'll pay at least 30% over a 10 second google search to stay local. that 30% thing may bite me but i prefer it to keep the conversation about price open and not confrontational. that said the things that i buy online the most are tungsten, plasma consumables, and specialty light bulbs. i have a unique skill set... my local charge accounts are mostly the weld supply, auto parts/paint place, and electrical distributor.  the electrical  house is the biggest price surprise, sometimes they are half what i can find online, and sometimes triple.being in business and stressing over prices has opened my eyes up, its beyond me how i can buy some products online for a price lower than a local suppliers wholesale and the local wholesale can be so much less than online.  the biggest thing i've taken away from it is not to judge an establishment on its price (they dont cross reference all prices) service is priceless.... to 30%ish for me
