Reply:Hey Billy, is that a direct replacement heel? Or did you have it bent? And if so, what is the easiest way to make sure it will fit? I'm asking because I might get to do one of these at the end of the year. Kinda starting research now, and I think the machine is a Deere. As always, keep them pics coming. Oh, and maybe you can post up a couple of pics of your bad a$$ F550!!!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Stick man I had this bent.I used to hold cardboard on the cheek hand trace the radius with a marker.I bought this 2 weeks ago for 85 bucks. Then just transfer to cardboard to give to my steel supplier.I lay this inside the bucket floor.Have only used it twice.Imo if you have time do demo then make a template of what you need I think, this method is most accurate. Reply:Nice repair, I always did like doing buckets.Question, where did you get the flexible curve, it's a slick looking rig. As for the cardboard I use that method too but when you're trying to trace an inside curve it takes a few go 'rounds untill you have a usable, good fitting template.......Mike
Reply:Company out my way, called Genalco they are a wear parts supplier  for earthmoving equipment.

Reply:Ok i dont know anything about this kind of stuff but for getting the pattern onto cardboard ...could you not just hold card along the side ( hanging over the back of the bucket) and just trace the shape of it? why does it have to be the inside? Reply:Usually the bucket has wear strips/hardfacing on the outside which if you make a template off that wouldn't be any good as the size would be wrong as well when you get plate bent, either broke or rolled, it's the inside of the piece that the template is checked against because it is almost always the inside of the curve that's up when being formed. Adam, you concur....somewhat :-) ?.....Mike

Reply:Duplicate post.Last edited by Gravel; 05-30-2014 at 10:08 PM.Reason: Duplicate.GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference. How big of a bucket is that? Looks like it would take a 330 to use it. I don't think i would even attach it to a 325.Really nice work, man!GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
