Hey guys, I've been reading these posts for a bit and couldn't wait to post my last project away from the everyday industrial machines that I build. This one holds a little under 5 cord with one side measuring about  w4'xL8'xH8' and the other side 3'x14'x8'. Exact volume IDK, didn't bother with it, as long as it fit within the porch he had. I had no idea how big it was going to be till it was built, it's one thing on a tape and paper but damn it weighed in a scoshe more than 600lbs. I'm still working on my custom projects profile and knew this is a good place for feedback. So I'm open, whatcha think?
Reply:Looks good to me.
Reply:Looks nice. Only issue I see might be weight when filled. You might find you sink the frame into the soft ground. You may want to add some plates, concrete block or wood "feet" to help spread the load.Nice looking house and view. I loved my time living out there in Washington state. Beautiful area..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Not too bad for a solderer.
Reply:Holy wood rack batman! My only concern is that half the wood is going to be wet from blown rain/snow...There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:X2. You get a lot of rain over there. Very nice looking. The bend in the top ends sets it apart for me. Again, nice. Originally Posted by DSWLooks nice. Reply:not so much Rain in the Spokane area guys. It's us over in the western side of the state that get the rain. but they do get more snow than we do.There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Thanks for the replies It does have 6x6 pads on all corners and in the middle of the long run.Snow is more of an issue than the rain. The wind comes up the front side of the house, not my house but a costumers.
Reply:That looks great!!! I hope his insurance agent doesn't see it though. When my sister was setting up the insurance on their new house ,she told her agent that they wanted to build a woodshed next to the garage. Her agent told her that flammable materials located close to structures appreciably increased the fire risk, and of course the rates. We ended up building her a free standing structure away from the house (not nearly as convenient).  I did make her an indoor woodrack that holds enough wood for a few days(keeping the trips to the woodshed to a minimum), and protects her tile floor and wall.
Reply:That is a great looking wood rack.    I bet your customer is happy.

Reply:Looks awesome! Any close ups on the welds?
Reply:Whoever has to split all that wood is going to be mighty sore in the morning!Hobart cutting/welding torch.MM252, and nothing else.  My first welder.  Buy once, cry once....but I really would like a nice 50/60A circuit to run it at full strength.A bunch of ideas, and not enough time and money to bring them to life.
