I don't know...  Looks like this could replace the cutting blade on the grinder...http://www.dualsaw.comThey even have an attachment that makes it into a bench top chop saw, but it's not on the website for some reason.
Reply:Looks interesting, but for $180 you could buy alot of grinders.I wonder how much the blades cost. I also am wondering about blade life.Tim Beeker.
Reply:Isn't that the oxy clean guy?
Reply:This is not new. I saw it about 10 yrs ago and tried to get one at sears. They had some problem with it as I recall, and took it off the shelf. I think if it was any good it would have been more popular already. Who knows though. Maybe the design has been refined?
Reply:I think it's a new design totally.  On the 30 minute infomercial this morning, they introduced the inventor.  If he invented it back then, he would have been a kid.  And he sounds like he's from Germany.  It's pretty cool, but a bit pricey too.

Reply:OK guys, I had the craftsman one. The blades cost about $70 each to replace and you need to replace them both.  It claimed it could cut 1/4" steel but I had trouble with 1/8" It does not cut as cleanly as the video shows and it cuts a WIDE cut.  It did not cut wood worth a crap either.I had mine for about two weeks and traded it for a junk trailer. One thing I have heard about those commercials is that they cheat when demonstrating their stuff. Remember the little blenders that you put down into a cup or glass and blend right in the cup? They had increased the voltage dramatically to get that performance and at your home you could not match the performance. They burned them up for the commercial. I would not be surprised if something similar is happening here.If Billy Mays is pitching it, I am not interested. Pitchmen are good because the product cannot sell itself.I do not recommend it.
Reply:Tell you what...  Everyone pitch in and buy me one, and I'll review it!  Just kidding.  Seriously though.  No, just kidding. On the infomercial, they had a 14 day trial for $9.99.  Someone could get it, test it, then send it back if it's crap.  I'm sure it's not crap though.  Might just not be what we could use it for.
Reply:we've got the crapsman version.   for 1/8, and under,  it worked......   not great,  but not bad......  untill we chipped a tooth, and now stuff wedges the teeth apart.  save it for a job when we really need iti wouldn't buy another one......  was almost scarey to runBill BerryKeith Berry & Son Ltd.machine work, and weldingBear River Vollunteer FD
Reply:I got a Freud (sp ?) for my 7 1/4" circular saw. It works great! I cut a corner notch out of my 3/4" welding table top like it was butter. Goes through thinner stuff like it wasn't even there. It does throw hot metal chips all over so be sure to cover up and wear eye protection. I wear safety glasses as well as a face shield. Highly recommended for cutting metal.JimCut an MGB and widened 11" C4 Corvette suspension and LT1 Chevrolet power & 6 spd. Reply:Just a side note, but the Freud blade isn't supposed to be used on stock thicker than 1/8".  I've used mine on 3/16, but am impressed that it worked on 3/4".

Reply:I just discovered that Sears has'em again http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00925574000P looks like the same unit, blades about the same price ($35 a set)   AND its cheaper!-- fredLincoln 180C MIG

Reply:I have used the craftsman one. I may have been the older model because it had a blueish/greenish handle (kinda a ryobi color). The shop got it to cut metal. It worked ok on wood, but sucked on metal. It was not good. The cut was very wide, and it just plain sucked. We all used it the first week the shop got it, then never used it again. It is a neat design, but it doesn't do what they say it does.

Reply:I think I'll stick with my trusty zipcut, which cuts 1/2"  no problem (works good for cutting the ends of skid wraps!)  If using a zipcut isn't feasable, a torch or plasma works just fine!  Regardless, 2 bucks for a disk as opposed to whatever they're trying to pawn that off at!In the infomercials I've seen, the guy running the regular "cutoff disk" was using a 1/4" hard disk and doing it bass aackwards.

Reply:Originally Posted by Jim StabeI made a mistake when I said I had a Freud blade in my circular saw. The Freud blade I have is in my 14" dry cut saw. I have a Bullet blade in the circular saw. It is not recommended for steel over 1/4" but I can attest that it cuts 3/4" with ease (at least for 2 1/2")http://www.bulletindustries.com/Shop...id/0/SFV/32766Jim

Reply:Late night infomercials are effing awesome!! Waking up to tell the wife "I think I ordered the double set of Ronco knives last night" is the best feeling! (wife) WTF are you going to do with 65 knives you tart? "cut stuff I guess" Weeeee...My experience is if it's on an infomercial it's siht. Go buy (or steal from work) good sawzall blades.HammerFile Big Hammer------------------------------Here, let me Google that for you...
Reply:There's a new model on their website... "THE DESTROYER" uses 6 1/4" blades and has a more powerful motor.  Horrible Fart has a version of this now too... Common consensus in the reviews seems to be that it cuts marginally OK, but tends to burn up before they really get to try it out on stuff.    http://www.harborfreight.com/5-doubl...8316-8065.html

Reply:I have a HF version, got it for Xmas. Cuts about 1/4in wide and throws some big chunks doing it. Has about 8ft of 14ga sheet and some light perf sheet cutting on it. Not real pretty, but fast.Beer has food value, Food has no beer value
Reply:What's it cost to add the blender attachment?"The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
