looking for a heavy duty hinge 1/4 thick

My air compressor that runs off the engine broke off the other day. Vibration was to much and it caused the cracks to weld. I did not use a hindge style. But because the belt tensioners on my older truck are near impossible to find and if, I want to have these compressor mounts sold to the 4x4 market, It would be best to mount the compressor, a york 210 be mounted on a large hinge. The other side would be bolted upto the side of the engine block.The thickness would be 1/4 inch machined or stamped. It has to be beefy because of the normal vibration these engines produce at idle. I may have to weld one side of the hinge to the mount plate for the compressor. Again, the compressor base is approximately 6 inches deep. So if the mount can be this wide and really heavy duty, that would be great!
Reply:Why not make a hinge?A simple piece of solid round stock, and a piece of pipe.  Much like a small trailer uses for the fold up ramps.I do not have a good pic of mine, an cannot post one right now anyway.  However I know there are pictures here, I will see if I can find one for you.

Reply:How about a tubular type weld on hinge with the brass bushing? Relatively cheap, maintenance free and very strong. They are easily found online, here is the first one on a search:http://www.hoffmanhinge.comSome of them are remove by sliding to one end but it would be easy to make a little "keeper" to prevent that. Reply:" solid round stock, and a piece of pipe "1/2 right, the solid round stock is good, normal pipe is not unless you have a lathe, pipe has a welded seam inside and donks up hinges, use DOM tube no inner weld seam and is heavier wall than pipe.For a 1/4 wall and a 1/2 inch pin a 1" DOM is what your looking for.
