Reply:I'm not sure on the mc series but most Smith torches have a lifetime guarantee. Just be sure you have a Smith tip , not a generic one in it to be covered under warranty.
Reply:You can try Regulator and Torch Exchange. They can probably get you the parts you need, or rebuild it for you.http://www.regulatortorchrepair.com/repairservices.php.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:The old Smith Torches do not have a lifetime warranty but can be rebuilt at your cost. But still worth it. If you do have one with life time warranty tell them you bought it new if they ask. They won't check.
Reply:John, I have a Smith torch in my tool box from the early 50s that says Lifetime. I checked into having it repaired and it still was under lifetime warranty.I don't need it so it just hangs around to look cool.
Reply:I have 3 Smith MC 509 cutting heads. 2 90 degs. and 1 60 deg.? one 90 deg. has lifetime warranty one 90 and 60 deg. Ado not have a lifetime warranty.
Reply:Lifetime had to be bought as Liftime and the price was higher than non-Lifetime.Smith Lifetime warranty is also only good to the original owner.......so if you have an issue your Grandfather bought it for the farm and now you run the farm
Reply:I had my lifetime repaired at no cost. I bought it on eBay but was the original owner.
Reply:If its a life time warranty to the original purchaser, and that be you, awesome! If its not, better to pay for the repairs yourself rather than screw over an American company, Lord knows they are becoming rarer and rarer, so lets not take advantage of them just to save a few pennies.  GarLincoln Electric, Power MIG 256Hypertherm Powermax 45 Miller Dynasty 280DXSmith O/A torchGenesis of a welding table

Let's use General Motors as an example: What compensation do they render for loss of time, productivity, mileage, normal wear and tear, etc. for "honoring" your warranty on the new car you purchased through either recalls, or items failing prematurely? But they would never consider "screwing you over" in the name of profits as they are an ethical, honorable based American corporation operating with only the highest set of principals. Yeah, right, tell that to people whom have to live with this garbage called corporate greed; and this is just one example.
Reply:I can see both sides.    But the good ole days are gone, and it's a circular food chain out there.     It may be that Smith would be happy to fix it, because it would keep you buying there tips.    If I had to guess, I'd say slob didn't approve of the taxpayer funding the GM bailout.
