Is this a good idea to have all these tools on the same table. Please comment. Attached Images
Reply:Will it work for you??? Will something awkward be able to be clamped, drilled , ground or sanded without getting in the way of another machine? Do you have another bench with a vise also? If it's the onle vise you have. (vise not vice) I would use it on my main work bench. That's me not you so I'm just sayin'. It does look like a good combo to have everything in one spot. Especially if you're tight on space.
Reply:I would mount the drillpress in the back by itself..(I little high 'aint it?)Then make mounting plates for everything else and bolt them down then weld trailer tubing to the bottom of the plates..Put a reciver tube on the side of the table in your situation and use stuff as needed in the reciver tube. That's what I did....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:If one person works there it will do. If more than one works there, no way.
Reply:Yup, set it up however you want it. I mounted all my benders to one bench with wheels. I only put 1 bolt in each bender so they can be pivoted out of the way of each other or whatnot.
Reply:can be done, if your projects are smaller scale.  Since this pic I''ve added a bit more. There are now 4 items on the bench and two more which can be brought up, locked down and used as needed.  This one is for wood, could be metal instead. Next one to add, a modified watchmakers lathe for making guitar pickups which will store underneath, come up once in awhile to use it. . Reply:I think in my opinion, the sander and the grinder can easily be on the same table, its used the same kind of work, but the press drill and especially the clamp are positioned wierd, its good if you have to work with pieces smaller than 12'' im a shop worker, i don't have any garage or tools at home, but if one day i've have stuff like you in my garage i would be able to organize it good and convenient!Calculator > Bevel Square
Reply:I prefer anything that generates chips or dust be mounted on stands or on Reese-hitch mounts so the nasties fall on the floor for easy cleanup. Tables are a hassle to clean and the effort will go greatly beyond what you'd put forth to mount them more conveniently.Benders on a table make sense, as they don't generate waste.
Reply:Like Zapster said , bench with receiver tube is awesome.  You could build  pedestal floor mount for grinder and vise or a pedestal setup with receiver tube. Make or buy a table with wheels for the sander.
Reply:I wouldnt care for the drillpress to be near the grinders..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:I'm with Farmall and Brucer.  That's also why my vise is on the right end of my table, so most of the grinding dust goes off onto the floor vs onto the table.  And my table itself is the last thing on the right along that length of wall, so only the floor catches the dust. That dust is hard on precision tooling, electronics, and anything with hydraulic cylinders.

One of these days my grinders are going outside my shop in a lean to, mine is hitch mounted and its still a mess, I am thinking like a carport off my shop, covered on two sides to keep snow and rain out.Not this summer though.I also like my vise lower, like 30-32 inches at the top of the vice, makes it easier to use with the grinder.
