help lincoln 180 weld pak problem

ok i have the 180 lincoln weld pak with the mig weld conversion kit installed on it.  instead of using the mig with the gas thing.  i decided to weld with flux core innershield.  i cant seem to get the flux core to weld right at all.  is it because i converted the power cord to a regular 110 v?  which it was still able to power up the machine?  or is it because i have the conversion kit installed?  or what am i doing wrong cause i had a linclon 100 flux core welder and it worked fine for me but i sold it cause i bought the 180 instead which was dumb of me but it could work out fine if i solve this problem.   can someone help me out to how i can make this dumb machine function properly?
Reply:Did you switch the polarity of the 180 when you went from FCAW to GMAW?  Should have been on DCEN for flux MIG and switched to DCEP for gas MIG.-NathanLincoln Invertec V275-S
Reply:If it is a 220v machine.A 220v machine will never work properly on 110.

Reply:so u guys r saying that my problem is cause i switched a regular house three prung instead of make up an adapter to fit it correctly?  if that is so, would it still give me the same power since it will still be feeding off the same power panel?
Reply:The Lincoln 180 is a 230 volt machine. When you said you switched the plug to a house three-prong, do you mean a three-prong 220 plug such as for a dryer, stove or such, or are you actually plugged into a 120 volt circuit? If you are plugged into 230 V, make sure your polarity is correct for flux core (DCEN). Reply:I was going to mention that the 180 is a 230V machine. (The 140 is for 120V.) But a few guys beat me to it!Andrew
