i decided to buy a new machine rather than spend a bunch of money on an older machine. figured it is just a matter of time before something else would fail. the 255 xt was recomended and was wondering what your expierience has beenwith them. i dont do much alu. but having the option would be nice at times. generally dont do any fab work with anything over 1/4 anything over 3/8 i usually use the sa 200 thank you in advance
Reply:I have the 255c which is the same machine without the timer kit, it is a great machine. My machine is 5yrs old and has been used in a fulltime fab shop as well as for tinkering. If you keep it clean inside and dont abuse it you should have many years of great service from it. Unless they changed the gun it comes with since I got mine, the stock gun is garbage compared to the aftermarket ones. If your buying new try to wheel and deal a better gun, even the Radnor (tweco knock off) is a step up.If you cannot convince them, confuse them. Harry S Truman
Reply:I have the 255xt. Beast of a welder.
