Off to Idabel

Nothing much going on here, what with the weather, so it was the ideal time to go pick up some auction buys from last month.To make the trip worthwhile I added another purchase to the load the other day.  37 steel roofing panels (3' x 12' raised rib 29ga) for $685, not a bad price for around here.  Less than half what it would otherwise cost.  A welding project lined up for summer (hay equipment shelters).Early morning rollout (4:00AM), breakfast, then on the road by 5:30.Cool place, one of the largest equipment auctions in this part of the countryGet there, check in, get my paid invoices for the loadout guys, then start piling it on the truck.Nice maintenance facility for the auction house equipment.  They have backhoes, tractors, telehandlers, conventional forklifts, and one very big mobile crane.  Note the large floodlights.  These auctions go on well after dark, and the loadouts, the day of the auction, can go well into the morning hours.  The loader is another one-of-these-days project.There's still gas stations that sell real gas along the route, and the truck luvs it  10mpg"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:What loader frame is that? Looks about identical to the one that was brought here for repair and is so bent, twisted its not worth the time repairing.
Reply:Sam, I lived in Broken Bow for about 6 years and went to the Brinkley auction every chance I got.  I really miss now that I'm a Texan too far away.  I picked up some really great equipment.

Reply:I'm a little scared of equipment auctions since a guy I worked with made monthly payments for a tractor he never drove. He took it to a dealer to have it inspected to transfer the remainder of warranty to him. S/N came up stolen! He payed for it with his home equity account and it took him three years to pay it off. If I remember correctly, the consigner used a bogus I.D. and the auction house was found to have no liability.
