i am thinking about the lincoln 180 that does 110 and 220 any issues with this welder? its my first one. im going to be welding on my jeep frame and sheet metal and roll cage.
Reply:Is this the machine you are thinking about?http://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...ature/E727.pdfIf so, its only rated for 208 and 230 volts, not 110.I'm also curious, is this going to be a street legal vehicle? Is this going to be one of your first projects?
Reply:The POWER MIG 180 Dual is the one.
Reply:I think overall it is a good unit. However, compared to the Miller 211 MVP and Hobart 210 MVP (both dual voltage machines) for not much more money you get more amps out. Which translates into little better capability.Been going through these numbers lately myself. I wish Lincoln had a machine that was closer to the other two in capability and price, but they don't.Lincoln AC225 and CartLincoln WeldPak HD and CartOne hand
Reply:I would wait for the thermal arc 211i... also take a look at the thermal arc 181i the 211i would be pretty near perfect for automotive fab work, its going to be dual voltage also..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:I second the Thermal Arc 181i. Great machine but its 220v only I think.Making as much progress as a one legged duck in the middle of a pond, just going in circles. |
