Hi everyone im new hereI want to weld edges of a wire mesh plate to make a mesh tube. I have some questions for this job:1. How can I improve weld line quality just like in the pictures attached? Which welding method should I use? And which specifications? 2. Can we change Frequency range to improve weld quality? 3. How do we can weld Tin ( for example in making Can)Thanks
Reply:Spot welder, micro tig or silver solder. They also make dedicated machines that can weld a thin seam with rollers. Kind of like a traveling spot welder/resistance welder. Most cans like pop cans or oil filter housings are drawn from a sheet of metal. There is also the metal spinning process. It looks like some else has already figured out the process. Can you buy from them or are you trying to compete for business.Dan D.Manipulator Of Metal

Reply:I used to make mesh cooling baskets for a plastics company ... I spot welded them together and then spot welded the bottom cup on. They were, IIRC, 3" OD x 6" long with a 1/2" wide strap handle across the top ... it was all 1/16" SSWe tried Tig welding them, but it took too long and they didn't need something that precise ... i made a few thousand of them with a harbor freight spot welder.AWS CWI xxxx21711968 SA200 Originally Posted by WelderMike I hate being bipolar, It's awesome.

Reply:How about two long pieces of metal joined in the centre, from each side of mesh pressed onto it, then the mesh welded with resistance wheel. Both mechanical and welded connection. Sent from my SM-N915W8 using Tapatalk |
