I believe this is the right section but im trying to gather thoughts on this school since its the only legit seeming one around here that offers welding. http://www.tcatdickson.edu/day-progr...le-and-dickson
Reply:I don't know about the overall quality of the school, but I can tell you that by looking at their brochure photo ( blown up) that they don't believe in proper PPE!Rich

Reply:I'm six weeks into getting my certs at a community college. They've had their program for a while now and have CWI's as instructors. I was amazed to hear a few fellow students say they've transferred from other welding programs.....Programs that didn't even have one single welding machine, let alone an entire welding/fabrication lab. The curriculum was strictly textbook theory. How anyone can get certified without ever striking an arc or lighting a torch, is beyond me.So....I suggest you ask to tour any prospective program's welding/fabrication lab. That will tell you a lot about the quality of the program. If they don't have much equipment made within the last decade, I'd pass on the program.Last edited by MoltenMetalMaven; 02-19-2016 at 09:09 AM.
