So I got a hobart handler 190 a couple weeks back been practicing and practicing and practicing. I have figured out the machine really well. Just been doing a couple steel targets for the range. I have used a sledge hammer and a few shots from a 45 so I know its strong and penetrating. This is pretty much how all of my welds look like now. Teach me old wise ones Attached Images
Reply:Try doing little circles. As the electrode his the bare metal it penetrates, then in the back side of the circle you fill the weld puddle.  Suggest clockwise circles moving left to right. Reply:Sounds good, right now I'm doing that but counter clockwise so i will switch it up. thank you
Reply:The idea is to put the electrode on the metal as much as you can for penetration. Set it on the puddle to make your bead the size you want. And you do both with the circular action. If you go left to right w counter clock  wise,  you drag the electrode through the puddle much more with less time on the weldment.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
