And regulator...New here, hey everyone! I have a TA 'kit' that did not come with the TIG torch or regulator.  Looking for something that will work, looking for under $75 used? I will start a new thread in an appropriate forum about the compatibility, Thanks!
Reply:I'd just get a generic scratch-start rig. Those are compatible with "electricity" and you can swap them between machines as fast as you can clamp on the stinger:The canonical Tozzi scratch-start thread:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=38106
Reply:Excellent info ( am a total newbie-hack-greenhorn).Any links for cheap options to buy, new or used?

Reply:Local suppliers can choose to be low-priced depending on the store and if they like you.  If you post your location another Weldingwebber may be able to recommend some good folks local to you.All local welding suppliers have considerable discretion on many, but not all, brands they sell. Since you are gonna need argon from somewhere do check with your local suppliers. I'd straight-up emphasize I'm a noob and not a "rich welder" yet, and be mellow and respectfully curious. While I supplied Airgas part numbers in the thread, you can look those up online and get equivalent items from other vendors. It would be nice if folks who deal with other sources added their recipes (from Praxair perhaps) to THAT thread so we can keep using it for reference even if they also post to this one.
Reply:Wow, thanks a ton, I appreciate the civil replies! I have gone to the local Norco dealer (idaho Falls, Id, I am in jackson, WY), and they have been great help. I got Argon from Praxair, and personally thought they were condescending and overpriced. I even brought in everything i had, asked them what I would need to start TIG welding, and they just sold me an argon tank, some tungsten rods, and sent me on my way (missing the fact that all I had in the TA case was the spot accessories).Norco didn't seem to have (or didn't point me to) any 'generic' options, they were steering me towards Thermal Arc branded products (which they would have needed to order). They did, howver, offer a 10% 'newbie' discount. I will definitely be bugging you guys more (that's a treat AND a promise!
