Hi everyone, I picked up two of these old Lincoln wire feeders from the 1980's, this was in better condition of the two from a purely aesthetic standpoint. That being said I still cleaned it up and knocked most of the old paint off before throwing a fresh coat of epoxy paint on it. I replaced most of the electrical wiring and cleaned up connection points. Inspected the electric motor and cleaned out as well as the same for the wire feed internal gear mechanism. Aside from the grease being all dried out, once i had gotten it all cleared out of there it was amazing to see after 40 years of use there was absolutely no discernable signs of wear or aging of the wire feeder parts. And I bought this thing from a shop that closed down so it has probably been used professionally for most its life. Safe to say its probably good to go for another 40 years guys. Only things it needs is a gun, connector for the lead to your power source, and a small clamp for what Lincoln calls the "Controll Lead". Then your off to the races

Reply:I cant really find a point of reference with this thing, and im kkinda new to welding so im not really sure what a fair price would be... so im gona start at $500 for my asking price
Reply:i wouldnt mind having one for kicks, but i think id want one of the older ones if i did, and shipping is a killer. i usually go w/ my gut/instincts, so if i got soaked w/ a squirt welder, by a guy named super soaker, i'd tell myself, all the signs were there. good luck |
