So I want to build a trailer

Alright I want to build a trailer. I'm looking to build a 7.5x18ft flat deck trailer. Mainly for hauling my antique John deere tractor and anything I can put on it.  I want to use 2 5000 lbs axles.  But I'd like to see some of your tailer builds that are similar to my idea.Miller Bobcat 255Hobart 190 and spoolgunLincoln AC 225Lincoln LN-25Rock and Roll hoochie coo

Reply:Ok I will risk it. I agree with Minnesota Dave, buy the plans or buy a nice trailer. I think that I spent as much as what it would have cost to buy one. But I do have one heavy trailer. So here is a picture. The trailer was built about 1996 or so picture was last summer. I think it needs a new coat of paint.

If your really looking for advice on what to build I would need more info on what you want to do with the trailer and what tractor you want to haul. Reply:Don't buy the plans, just find a trailer you like and copy it. Also, don't build an 18', go ahead and build a 20'. You won't regret it.

Reply:Hey guys sorry for the delay in between posts.  I have a John deere 60 and I do tractor pulling ans just need a trailer suitable for that.  I work for a large Construction company and I can buy my steel from them if I need to.  I'm a welder for Skanska USA at the moment.   I don't really need a tilt deck but I'm looking to haul my tractor which weights 6500lbsMiller Bobcat 255Hobart 190 and spoolgunLincoln AC 225Lincoln LN-25Rock and Roll hoochie coo
Reply:Are you narrow enough with that to get in a car hauler type? They are cheaper to build, and easier to load since they are low. Depending on what you use for tires you can get at least 80" between the rails and as much as 82 or 83" and be legal. I can show you several options for designs that work real well. Would really save you some money and time. Reply:Engineered Blueprints are available from Northern tool for between $29. for bumper pull to $39 for goose neck,Have complete bill of material and welding procedure.  I bought a hole stack of different  plans from them  and keep them handy.
