I pick up a small bunch of these springs from work. Any thought's on projects I can incorporate them into. The couple that came to mind were a sprung stool, or animal rocker ride for the yutes."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:Weld an old steel tractor seat to the top, a plate and truck rim to the bottom and you have a springy-stool for the shop.
Reply:What did they come from ,with that machines surface looks like maybe out of a safety valve? Is that a green tag was it for nuclear use at one time? just had another of my seldom brilliant ideas, build them into each bed post for more action!

Reply:Iv'e seen guys take springs and use them to tension cables and give them a spring action. You will sometimes see a manufactured version on cables used for highway medians where teh spring absorbs the impactI was thinking they would be good for a gun target. Weld a piece of AR plate on top. Put a flag pole so when you hit them you should get the noise and see the flag waving.
Reply:Toss it in your forge and straighten it out. Should make excellent material for new forged tongs. Note quenching is probably a BAD idea..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:you could stack a bunch of them in the right sized diameter of pipe. Then put a golf ball, or harpoon on top. Then compress them. Then need to figure out some way to hold and release the load.

Reply:Cool find I'm sure you will find something to do with em!!!
Reply:They might be equipment isolators without the top and bottom mounting plates that have a recess that they fit into. They look pretty ridged. You could cut them into rings and make the wife or girlfriend a necklace, use the rings for eyes on a shovel for yard art, pawns for a BIG chess set, maybe a yard art heavy duty sunflower flower that you need a crane to set or arms or legs for something.
