I bought an SA200 Shorthood the other day and still need a little help bringing it back to life. Ser. # is A249576 & code is 1903 (1951 model) It was built with electric start but the starter, etc. is missing and the PO was crank starting it. I want to reinstall the electric starter. What will I need? What starter, alternator, etc. I think this thing was originally a 6V system, so am I going to have issues using a 12V battery, etc? I can use all the help I can get! I'm electrically retarded. Thanks!!Last edited by goinssr; 12-13-2010 at 04:39 PM.StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:Probably the best advice I can give would be to get in touch with these people: http://www.billswelderrepair.com/From what I understand they are very knowledgable, helpful, and tend to go out of their way to help someone in need with their machine. Reply:As for the starter, to my knowledge, is the same as the one on a redface too. You can put a one wire alternator (12 volt) and it will work great |
