So, I've had a lot of use with my pipeliner and the fibremetal ratcheting headgear, and frankly I'm growing tired of it. I have a rather large head (I think 7 7/8? hat size), and this headgear just doesn't fit. I have to have it all the way loose to get it on, and one click is tight-ish, 2 clicks equals give me a friggin headache. I thought about the Jackson 370 Headgear (20 bucks on amazon), but I don't know just how big it actually is and how well it adjusts.Any Advice appreciated! Thanks!

Reply:I have the 370 headgear on my pipeliner. I have a 7 5/8" head and I can put my hood on while wearing a beanie and with my sweatshirt hood up, I think you'll be fine. It's super nice comfortable gear.
Reply:Not sure if I can file extra notches, I'll have to see if it comes apart. How hard was it to install the 370 hardware?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Reply:The old days, some guys would cut out the ratchet and use surgical tubing instead. Drill hole in each end head gear sized to tubing , run through holes , and tie knots on end. We got it from Doctor at the hospital we were working at. Really worked well and easy on head.
Reply:I use a 370 and have a 7 3/4 -8 hat size depending on how much hair I have and can wear it with a beanie on as well. I have a hobart hood I used it on. It's not the best fit but it definitely works better than others
Reply:Take the old headgear out of your pipeliner, drill the square holes out to round witha 1/2" bit, ream with a file, install 370 headgear. Honest 15 minute deal.

Reply:Also to add, I wear a 7 3/4 welding cap and have plenty of room with the 370 head gear.
