Reply:That's on my wish list. I'll PM you my address. GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:We got one of those but have not had a chance to help my son put it together.  Hope it turns out good for you.
Reply:I am surprised how much I use mine. One thing I did, however is to take the angle iron down to my buddy with a mill and have him sharpen the bottom of the V.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
Reply:I'm curious as to the radius it will air bend.  This interests me because most of us will air bend more than any other kind of bend (custom dies, etc.)I see these, and wonder if they'll actually bend to a tight radius at angles other than fully seated in the die.  The die is quite wide, and decreases the usability to some degree.  BUT, it's also designed for a low tonnage press, so I figure there's some compromises. Here's a good chart to estimate die width, and tonnage required.I picked up a 7' piece of 1" x 12" plate a few months back, and it's sitting out there waiting on me to build a press brake, so I'm interested in the performance of similar small brakes I see."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:"Plate" as in above post.............................I call it UM Plate as it's wider than 9", anything else is simply called flat stock.  Silly, but correct   (So they say)"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:I don't know why they use a 90 degree angle for a V-die. Too bad they don't understand that this means you can't air bend a 90 degree corner (which is the most important angle to be able to bend). You might be able to get  to 90 by bottoming assuming there's no springback, but requires a hell of a lot more tonnage which means it can't bend as much/as thick material as it would otherwise be able to.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Looks like a pretty decent kit.

Reply:I need something like this at home. Cause this is what I play with at work. Though I do get a bit spoiled by having the cnc portion running good. Attached Images
Reply:@ jbr - look'n good bro!  Talked with Troy at SWAG about this HD kit last week.  Planning to acquire the same product and integrate to my soon-to-arrive 20T shop press.  Will the final finish have intermittent horizontal welds (as shown), or will you run full-length welds?  I'm planning on running full-length MIG welds between the V-block and U-bracket.Last edited by ManoKai; 01-30-2015 at 04:50 PM."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

Reply:@ Gravel - believe the bottom 'U' channel (V Die Opening) is 4in.  The HD Finger Kit is rated to bend 5/8" plate, although you would need 60Ton of force."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
