Hey everybody I was just wondering if any of you would give me a video camera for you tube I would PAY 100 DOLLARS or less just  send me a message or  a visitor message or comment belowQuality is our policy.
Reply:There must be more to this story than this....Do you only trust Welders to sell you good stuff ?Do you only trust Welders to know what camera would be best for you ?This is practical joke of some kind ... perhaps an inside joke ?We can advise you as to how to find a used camera locally for pretty darn cheap unless you are way out in the sticks... might that help solve the youtube posting envy you are currently experiencing ?Perhaps you could tell us all the criteria you want to satisfy .... ?I have four digital cameras.... the first two I got were the low end Canon 800 because I really wanted to have the mic jack to use instead of relying on the built in mic... many professors bought those for making video of their speeches... I mean lectures... They have great clear resolution because they are MINIDV ... but the problem with that ( some feel ) is that it takes about the same time to input to your computer after making the video as it took to make it... one hour on tape and one hour to download... that is before you do any editing ... So most people now are using flash type of memory... cards.... micro cards, etc... they typically download faster but do not have the clarity ( at the same price camera ) as the MINIDV 's do. If you want long term storage of your video then MINIDV is by far the best... this is like the tape backups from the old days....and their life is measured in decades... Other memory things these days are typically much less... for instance, the DVD you make on your own machine ( as compared to the pressed DVD from professionals ) may only have a life of 4-7 years... I see you very well may be out in the sticks.... like me... so I will try to help you decide on a make and model and price range and look for it around here.... then mail it to you....The other two are Olympus fe 3010... 12 megapixel and amazingly sharp and CHEAP to find on CL.... I got both of mine for $60.  They are sort of modular in construction.. the first I have seen like that.... meaning that a broken screen is easily replaced and costs like $15 on Ebay... amazing... I have not used one of these to up load yet... but it downloaded to my new laptop with WIN7 like a breeze.... So we need to know exactly what you want to do... close ups of welding ?  General pics of stuff and family ?Last edited by GBM; 01-19-2012 at 02:43 PM.Weldandpower Lincoln 225 AC,DC with Briggs 16hp gas engine.WW2 era Miller TIG.

Reply:I would not have thought of them because they were discontinued last year..  but they say they are still available from the manufacturer until they run out of them.  I am not sure they will fit his need after seeing this part of a review :"Because the Flip UltraHD records at 60 fps instead of 30 fps, the moving objects it captures look a bit smoother than on previous Flips. However, video quality is murkier in bright light and much less impressive in low light than we’ve seen in previous incarnations of the Flip. Compared to previous generations of the Flip--which were practically the gold standard for low-light footage a generation or two ago--the UltraHD performs poorly in low-light conditions. At best it's a middle-of-the-pack low-light performer. Still, in decent lighting conditions, the Flip UltraHD captures subjects nicely with bright, exposed colors; and at 60 fps, I could smoothly capture the subtle movements of a wolf eel swimming at Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Flip UltraHD earned an overall video quality score of Good, mostly due to its respectable output in bright-light situations."from this site ...http://www.pcworld.com/article/22620...implicity.htmland it appears to be over his stated budget ....By ' Welding Videos '...do you mean of actual arc while welding ?    That will probably constitute a low light situation... but perhaps some people here are already using them for that....and you could check out the quality and get feedback with regards to settings....Weldandpower Lincoln 225 AC,DC with Briggs 16hp gas engine.WW2 era Miller TIG.
Reply:OK,I took one of my two Olympus 3010 fe cameras and took this video of the other 3010 sitting on the face of a couple of my welding hoods.... ( taken apart for painting )...Something is wrong with uploading ... it took 40 minutes to upload a one minute thirty second video.. that is just wrong.Seems like they could be attached right there with shielding for the lens and do a pretty good job....Weldandpower Lincoln 225 AC,DC with Briggs 16hp gas engine.WW2 era Miller TIG.
Reply:Get a Bloogie from Best Buy. They are $100 bucks. They will allow you to shoot video in 1080p high definition, as well as allow you to upload it over WiFi. That is by far the best way to spend that $100.
