HiI have some problem with this welderit has not 230 volt AC output and no current on welding output!I fixed engine yesterday, but generator did not work.I replaced some parts, but I cant understand what is this "flashing diode" how can i know the battery charging board is working good or not. thank you so much! Reply:A flashing diode is between the battery and the armature. It allows 12vdc from the battery get to the armature and start it going. as the voltage builds it blocks the higher exciter voltage from damaging the battery. Once voltage builds up. there is a separate winding in the stator that supplies voltage to the diode block and output controls that in turn control the armature.Your picture shows the silver diode block. The flashing diode is mostly a single diode. a small stud mount or axel lead diode in a tube tied up in the wiring harness. Most welders put the flashing diode in the stater coil circuit. This way it is only in circuit while the engine is cranking.
