SP - 100 Tips

I inherited my late Dads SP - 100 welder with less than 10 hrs. on it and would like to know where I might be able to pick up more tips for it. It has slip in tips and I tried my local welding shop ( Lincoln ) and he said they were not available. Would anyone have any suggestions?Any new old stock laying around?  This type of tip isn't threaded, and just slips into the gun.   I'm running .023 and could use some assistance.... Thanks...

Reply:Slip in tip?  Hmmmm, never seen or heard of those before, but they may exist.  I have seen slip on nozzles and used them.  Are you sure its tips and not nozzles you are referring to?  If you can, post up a pic or pics of the tips you are referring to.  Or, if you have the manual, look up the part number and post the numbers.  Someone should be able to help.  If they are slip in/on tips, you may be able to change the gas diffuser to the style with threads where the tips install, that way you could use the standard threaded tip.  The "standard tip" should easily be found at any LWS, Home Depot, or Lowes.  Good luck and welcome to the forum!A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter   Victor O/A
Reply:You could try to adapt a tewco or lincoln diffuser to the old gun tube. then you can use any lincoln or tweco tip and nozzle you want. But you might be better off buying a new gun. A magnum 100 gun that will plug right in costs around $125.00  give or take a mark up.
Reply:The slip on SP-100 tips are no longer available. The best option is to buy the new style 100L gun that uses all 11 series standard tips. We have tried to retofit the old style gun several times but did not have any luck.
