I am wanting to buy a new multi process welder?  I have been looking and I know there are a few to choose from, is there a brand out there that is better than the others? The machine I am wanting will be for home use, projects, maybe a heavy repair or two.  The ones I have looked at are in no particular order. Please feel free to comment on the below choices and add any to the mix, I am open to all brands.  Thank you in advance..Linc. mp210Tweco fab 181 or 211Longevityesab rebel

Reply:I don't much like multi process machines, to expensive to have repaired. If I were you I would buy a good stick welder off CL and buy a used miller 250 amp mig welder. If I couldn't find a used mig welder I would buy a new Horbart Ironman. I have both a miller and Hobart Ironman and the Hobart welds just as good as the Miller for a lot less money. The Hobart doesn't have the bells and whistles that the miller has, having auto set and digital readout won't make any difference on how the Hobart welds. Just my two cents from my experience.
Reply:I keep looking at the tweco fabricator 211i  for about $900 that is a mig dc tig and stick. Which two of them I do not really need since I have one that will do the ac/dc tig and stick. At the same time I have a 110v Hobart 140 mig that works but running it full out is worrying me on how long it will last.. So that is the why.Klutch 220si mig , stick, and dc tigHobart 140 AHP ALPHA 200X 2016Lotos LTP5000DSmith O/P

Reply:Have you looked at the Lincoln 210mp. Ran some 7018 on one. At 100 amps 100% duty. Pretty nice for what it was.   Just costs $1400 with the tig set up with it. Reply:I have the Lincoln MP210 and it works very well for me. Smooth wire welder and runs 7018 very well. Does not run 6010. I can't comment on the other brands as I have no experience with themSteveLincoln SA200 (1966 Redface)Lincoln IdealArc 250Steve1990 Miller Dialarc 2501993 Miller Maxstar 140 STR2015 Lincoln MP2101966 Lincoln SA200 Redface

Reply:Lincoln MP10. I am guessing that you are not going to weld aluminum with tig?

Reply:TM-500 AC/DC with a Multiweld. Single phase if added HiFreq can do anything .
