I have a .35 Cubic Ft., Model# 1003501 Marco Blaster I got as a wedding gift from my wife. It's served me well through many'a rusty adventures until last Sunday. I poured in the media, set the lever to blast and it seemed as if it was set to purge???? After losing about ten pounds of coal slag which was literally pouring out the nozzle, I shut her down to see WTF was going on. I checked the linkages on the bottom to see if they were bound up, but after about an hour or so of checking everything I thought to check I couldn't see what was wrong. It WILL blast, but you would spend about $50 in media just to do small car tire rim. It would definitely be more cost effective having a blast co. do it rather than the blaster in its current condition. I left my dad's shop a bit frustrated since I have over an hour ride home, and I only get one day a week to work on my '72 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 project. I really wanted to get these particular pieces blasted so I could start welding the rear floor in. Anyway, enough crying, but does anyone have any advice or experience with a blaster doing the same thing? The nozzle is the same one that came with the unit. Could it be too worn out causing too much media to exit the gun making it seem like it was set to purg,. or do I need to break it down to see if anything is clogged due to moisture. I can sat that my dad has about 4 water seperators on his IR compressor(+ the one on the unit itself) and I always drain them before blasting. I'm at a loss, and these units are far from the cheap ones you get at HF.
Reply:Have you ever changed the nozzle? Thats where I'd start. I didn't feel like looking up your model. We are taking about a pressure pot blaster? Does it have adjusters for pot pressure and hose pressure? Might try to reduce pot pressure. How long have you had it?

Reply:Most of the other forums I visit have that at the bottom. Now I know, thanks. |
