I'm new to welding web, and recently aquired an old Lincoln 225 3-as. I want to put it on a truck. I'm not sure how the start circuit works, and it takes excessive voltage to even make it crank slowly. The Onan engine seems to run ok but have noticed that it seems to have something bent as the engine while cranking slowly wants to wable opposite the generator section. Any ideas?
Reply:please post the code number and the full model name. The wobble could be serious and fatal to the welder. Bent rotor shaft, motor coupling ect.Need to look at the correct diagram to answer slow crank problem. |
