Well I bought a welder from a farmer in my area whose dad owned it and died.. so he sold a couple of his welders. What I bought is a Lincoln idealarc 250 ac dc tig welder. It came with a bottle and regulator, 20' leads, and extra stuff for the torch. It is air cooled and has the thumb push trigger instead of the foot pedal. The welder w/o the bottle weighs 495 pounds according to the manuals that came with it. He also has the receipts from when it was bought in 1985. He thought 1995 and it looks like 95 on the receipt but I think its 85. The farmer said his dad bought it and used it a little bit to weld on aluminum sprinkler pipe but that it basically sat in the shop with hardly any use which I believe because there is hardly a scratch on the welder anywhere with the exception of hte handle which is scratched from stuff leaning up against it. I paid $350 for it. I know I didnt get ripped off by any means but what kind of a deal did I get here and is this a pretty good machine? I mean being a lincoln tig in great condition I knew I wasnt being "took" but I know nothing about this welder model.
Reply:You need to be thankful for such a good deal. City of L.A. Structural; Manual & Semi-Automatic;"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. Iron is taken from the earth, and copper is smelted from ore."Job 28:1,2Lincoln, Miller, Victor & ISV BibleDanny

Reply:You scored a great deal IMO. Price a new one, and if you have an old one that works, then you are in good shape.Lincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175 |
