I have a sa200 had for about 3 yrs. It is being finicky now and won't start. I have replaced the solenoid it was bad changed to three different batteries. It acts like it not getting egnough juice but I know that's not the case the engine wil turn over for a split second but not enough to get it running. But I can jump start it with another welder by hooking both sets of leads to each other while the other is running and will start and run all day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated there are no welding machine repair shops near me and hate to drive so far for it to be something simple.
Reply:Just a thought but you may want to check your battery cables. They can get a lot of corrosion buildup in them and impede their ability to carry current. I've had this happen on autos before. Once I changed out the old cable it started like it was hooked up to a power plant.StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:A draggy starter will give those symptoms.
Reply:The problem was the starter needed a spacing plate. Do know why it started for so long and all of a sudden needed it but that's all it was. It's running great and burnin rod. By the way it's a 65 redface slick welding machine. |
