I have a weld test coming up for mig vertical. Its been awhile since ive welded mig. Im assuming it will be .035 wire by what they do but the lady i talked to only said that it was mig up and nothing else. I can get the wire speed by the sound i just cant remember what the voltage was we used. In school it was 1/8 inch steel plate with .035 wire. Any tips on what voltage i should start at?
Reply:I set the wire speed, (AMPS) and volts by sound, and sight. Try 18-volts to start with for .035 wire.Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:17.5-18.5 v would be my rough guess as well for vertical up..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:When running vertical, keep your wire speed low. 175-225 IPM with .035. Be careful not to use too much voltage. 17-17.5 should be adequate. |
