Finished my cart tonight and its sweet! Water cooler is going in the bottom soon. 336 bottle on the back. It's all AL except the rear axle is steel. Is very solid too. 1.5 x1/8 AL. The front wheel bracket is 1/4 inch and the gusset tube is 1/8 inch. I just need to have my friend plasma some logos I'm gona make and I'm gona weld them on the end of the tubes that hold the cables on

Reply:Looks good. You should post some pictures in the sticky thread. However, I think you could have make it a bit higher so you could store stuff under the welder. Consumables, torches, etc. As it sits now, you will have to bend over a bit to reach the controlls of the welder and you don't have much spare room under it. Usually carts place the welder higher up so you can manipulate controls while standing.Mikel
Reply:Thanks guys!MIKEL 24. Read the second sentence in post #1. I didn't want to have my cart holding much more then the torch and foot pedal. I'm thinking of making a tray to hold cups and collets and tungstens on the top.
Reply:Great looking cart!DB

Reply:I'm not a fan of aluminum carts (just me), but you did a good job on it moto. You might be able to score some square plastic tubing caps and plug the ends up. They usually sell them at any well stocked hardware. It will give it a "finished" look.Your rear wheels should do ok. I've had problems with pneumatic tires, I prefer Phenolics myself. If they start losing air, throw a set of phenolics in their place and they'll out last you and your next three generations Ya did good man Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:Thanks man!whats wrong with aluminum carts? I do wanna find some caps!ya there harbor frieght so they have a 99.99 % chance of failing
Reply:I just prefer steel. It's easier to work with on a lot of levels, and the way I design and build mine, getting the materials to do it would be expensive to say the least.Mainly just a personal preference. Terry and Mike Gyver have built some very nice carts out of aluminum. It's just no my thing You can look into adding some bolt on tubes to hold your TIG rod. I built a set of them and they turned out well. Nice to have it right on the cart for easy access. Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948

Reply:Ya it's a 78 kz750. I made a thread on making a header for it
Reply:
Reply:its equal length stepped header. Leaned me way out.  I made the AL flanges that hold the header on too. I did put alot more collector length on it too and tapered the tail of the pipe down
Reply:Your header came out like doo doo.  seriously tho...it did I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:You don't like it mike?
Reply:The right side pipe looks like a robots arm to me and the collector is way to small. Looks like it wants to shoot a spit ball or something, like a pee shooter. Also out of no where it looks like a piece of pipe showed up in the tubing. I was just busting chops bud, lets get back to your cart, that came out sweet.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys2 inch collector. 2 cylinder 65 hp. Sounds close to me. You want that tight. My cart needs the motor and pump and its setup with a water cooler. I will be a happy camper
Reply:Nice cart and welds moto, The pipes are another story.  Maybe this video could help you out with the exhaust and no tubing bender is needed
Reply:The thing with exhaust and intake pipes is that sharp bends, pipes dumping against flat plates and rough surfaces or flexible type metal tubing can actually increase velocity in an exhaust tube, which usually increases vacuum during the next exhaust valve opening. Often creating more horse power. So although a pipe may not seem standard or text book, they may actually perform much better then you would think. For years the European racers had those little one inch pipes running to the middle of the car. The Americans thought they were idiots. After actually flow testing a similar set it was seen that the high vacuum created by the high velocity small diameter pipe was creating large amounts of horse power.                       Sincerely,                            William McCormickIf I wasn't so.....crazy, I wouldn't try to act normal, and you would be afraid.

Reply:i gave it a real good port job. That helped the power alot. That pile is about an inch high and it gained power every where even bottom end. If I remember right I took out about 6 or 7 cc's out of a 90 cc intake port.
Reply:I want another one sooo bad,I want another four tho. LTD or KZ, don't matter. Prefer 750.  I had a chance to buy a 79 Z 1000R for $1200 and turned it down. I'm a dumba$$I put a new valve train in my LTD. Ported and polished the head, jetted the carbs and had a four in one Mac pipe on it. It wasn't a performance bike by a long shot, but it was clean and pretty. Comfortable ride and had a nice power band in second around four five grand. I always loved the sound of that engine. Do you have issues with the timing chain tensioner? The fours were known for eating the guides and being super noisy. I put new guides and the spring loaded deal in mine when I rebuilt it. Helped a lot but the stupid head still seeped, even after doing everything right. They were also known to leak at the head and lower tho. Seen a lot of them that did.I had a Sportster and have rode my moms Dyna a lot, but I still want another Kawasaki 750 and want it more than another Harley. I cried when I sold my '81. I should have kept it. I had that bike a long time and there were a lot of great memories attached to it. A close friend of mine owned it several years before I did so I was already very well acquainted with it when it became mine.Great bikes Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948

Reply:My chain guides looked pretty clean. I can hear it a tiny bit running against the guides. Those 1000's are sweet. My friend has one that runs 10.2 in the 1/4 mile and that's with stock cam. He's doing even more porting and putting in cams. I think he can run under 9.5. That's faster then a busa or zx14. Abec I found carbide burr makes it weld alot cleaner. I used to brush alot but I think the brush contaminates it to much
Reply:nice!
Reply:Thanks alot. I'm very happy with it. Now I need a new project lol. I think my intake manifold. It's going on a toyota 22r hybrid and I'm going to put 2 newer style motorcycle carbs on a plenum intake manifold.
