Power Switch Nomenclature

I picked up a Central Machinery 12 x 36 gunsmith lathe a couple months ago from an estate and have been busy truing to get it cleaned up and back in operation since then.  The thing had so much builtup crud and grime that it looked like the underside of an off road diesel truck after a decade of use.  I even found severl cutters buried in the crud in the drip tray as I scraped the sludge out.  Fortunately the built up oils and grease had protected it from the elements  and it actually has cleaned up fairly well.  It is essentially identical to a Grizzly Model G4003 Geared Head Lathe.  The power button is the second from the left.http://www.grizzly.com/products/12-x...ed-Lathe/G4003After I cleaned it up and moved it indoors, I hooked it up but got nothing when I tried to turn it on.  Suspecting that the emergency stop switch had been damaged in transit, I replaced it today and tried to start it up.  The power switch wouldn't work but the jog would and I also found that if I played with the directional relays, the spindle would turn both ways.So I am thinking I either have a wiring problem or bad switch.  It took me a couple of days to figure out the nomenclature for the stop switch and I am hoping that someone here can point me in the right direction to find a replacement power switch or at least tellme what the proper nomenclature is.It looks to be a green, spring loaded, recessed, magnetically held, pushbutton panel switch approx an inch in diameter. Got a total investment so far of $500.Thanks for your help.Steve in Central TX
Reply:If you are sure it's the power switch.  Then make me an offer.  I believe this is the right one.I'd suspect it's the linkage for the directional control.  Check the forward/reverse lever on the carriage.  Then check the micro switches under the cover at the left end of the lower shaft.  We had a grizzly when I was in college that quit working.  It ended up just being a loose set screw by the micro switches.I don't believe the power switch is magnetically held, but it does energize the contactor holding circuit. Reply:The switch I have has two pairs of terminals.  1 pair is NO (normally open), 1 pair is NC (normally closed).  It is brand new and was acquired for that grizzly lathe I mentioned.  I think it was a G4005?My name's not Jim....
