My ESAB PCM 875 has been having some issues with the pilot arc...it's stuttering (best way to describe it), but will pull a decent arc when cutting, however, it will sometimes drop the arc at the end with large pops and not finish a cut.The consumables have all been replaced (tried two different new sets to see if that was the problem), the machine is currently running a Thermal Dynamics 1-torch instead of the original. Air feed is clean and dry, checked the gap on the high frequency arc contacts inside the machine and they're good at .040. Basically, I've run out of ideas and the trouble shooting manual doesn't cover an inconsistent or dropping pilot arc.Does anyone know of a good place to get this machine serviced? Thanks in advance for any help.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:Seems to me Thermal Dynamics has a little bushing that helps with Hi freq machines starting. It's a little known part that was included in certain upgrade packages. Might want to call Thermal dynamics and ask about the availability, and if it's used on the Esab setup. My friend has been running the one torch on his Esab 1125 for about 10 years plus.Never really looked at his one torch front end, but I kind of doubt he has that part?
